1956 Lincoln Premiere!
One owner car with only 50k documented miles on it! By far the most clean,
rust free, complete survivor car I have ever seen!
I
must say that I have seen some of the rarest most cleanest collectible
automobiles on the planet. Very rarely do I ever see them in this
position. About two months ago I had the pleasure of meeting a woman here
in the Kansas City area who had contacted me about helping assist her and
her father (Bob) with selling their 1956 Lincoln Premiere. She and her
father both explained to me with great enthusiasm about the wonderful
times they had shared over the years with this fantastic automobile. How
she had used it the day she got married. How when career day approached
and she was asked what her father did for a living and the only reply she
could give was "washes his Lincoln". How she would do her home work from
the garage as he cleaned the Lincoln meticulously. How no one, not her
mother nor any other family member was allowed to wear shoes within the
car. Bob has owned this car for many decades and you can see quite clearly
just how much he loved his Lincoln. Unfortunately it has come to a point
in time where he and his family must see it go. This car was parked in a
garage in 1980 and has not seen the day of light since. When parked, it
was in perfect mechanical order. It has never seen snow or rain. It is a
completely unrestored, completely rust free, survivor car that is loaded
with options. The only option this car did not come equipped with, which
was the only option you could do away with is AC. It has power windows,
power steering, power brakes, and power seats.
Body:
As you can see the car came from the manufacturer painted in a Palomino.
The paint on this car is the original and the only blemish through out the
entire paint is located on the trunk of the car. It measures the size of a
dime and was caused by a rock chip in the late 1970's. All of the chrome
and trim through out the entire car is in excellent condition with no
major pitting or scratches. All of the emblems are in place and are in
excellent condition. All of the glass through out the entire car is
original and in excellent condition. This car has absolutely no rust
anywhere on it. It has always been garaged and has sat for the past two
and a half decades in a garage, covered with blankets.
Interior:
As you will see within the photos, the interior is completely original and
in excellent shape considering its age. The only wear you will find is
located on the drivers side seat. Also the lower passenger side panel has
started to come undone and is hanging. The rest of the interior is in excellent
shape and in need of a good detailing. The car does have power seats which
are still in good working order.
Engine:
The engine is the original, numbers matching 368 big block V8 (285 HP) with only 50k
documented miles on it. It is powered by the original 4 barrel carburetor
setup and is backed by the original numbers matching automatic transmission. Neither of
which leaked, smoked or had any mechanical problems when the Lincoln was
parked. Today, the car does not drive and the entire drive train will need
to be gone through. All of the rubber through out the drive train will
need replaced and the fluids flushed. That should be all it takes to get
her back on the road.
This is
definitely a once in a life time opportunity for any car enthusiast. We
have a stack of paperwork that will go to the new owner of this car. I can
also say that the only non-original item on this car is the tires. You
just can't beat the quality of the original cars. Once they have been
restored, they never tend to be the same so this is a perfect chance to
pick one up where you can still salvage that old car feel and still be
able to show it with confidence.
I would
like to also add that we are not looking to sell this to just anyone. We
would like to find someone who will care for it and give it the proper
care that it needs. Preferably, a museum would be ideal but is not a must.
I will gladly listen to all
reasonable offers and should the right one come along then I will in fact
sell the car early as we do have it for sale "locally". I strongly
encourage anyone who is interested to please call or email to schedule a
time to come check it out. As
always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or
concerns you might have.
Thanks,
